About this exhibition
This year's edition of art KARLSRUHE will be a special one: After a successful summer edition last July, we are looking forward to welcoming art lovers to Karlsruhe again at a warmer time of year. From 4 to 7 May, the four high, light-flooded halls of the Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre will be transformed for the twentieth time into a showcase and marketplace for art spanning 120 years. This round edition of art KARLSRUHE is also the last fair for founding curator Ewald Karl Schrade, who is handing over the baton to a new director after two decades.
« We will prepare a dignified and at the same time festive setting for the 20th edition and are looking forward to a joint celebration of art with our exhibitors, partners and visitors », Fair Director Britta Wirtz and Curator Ewald Karl Schrade are certain. Well-tried events such as the traditional one-artist shows, the generous open spaces of the sculpture squares and the three award ceremonies will meet innovative talk formats and creative special exhibitions. As always, the fair experience is rounded off by the programme of national and international galleries, which offer the entire spectrum of the art market - from classical modernism to works fresh from the studios.
